These hot chocolate waffles are the perfect breakfast for the holiday season or any winter morning!

Ingredients

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup hot chocolate or cocoa mix

¼ white granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 Eggland's Best eggs, large

2 cups whole milk

⅓ cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mini marshmallows, to serve

Caramel syrup, to serve

Preparation

  1. In a medium bowl combine the dry ingredients; flour, hot cocoa, sugar baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  2. In another bowl combine the wet ingredients; eggs, milk, oil and vanilla extract. Pour the homogeneous mixture over the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth batter is formed.
  3. Heat the waffle iron and pour the batter and cook until they are golden.
  4. Repeat the same with the remaining batter and serve immediately by topping with mini marshmallows and caramel syrup (optional).
