Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter,softened
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 Eggland's Best Eggs (large)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon anise extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoon aniseed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375° F.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs and extract.

Combine the flour, aniseed, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Shape into 1 inch balls or use shaped cookie cutter and place on greased baking sheets.

Bake at 375° F for 6-7 minutes or until set. Cool on wire racks.

If desired, frost cookies and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
