3/4 cup sugar
Icing
1.5 cups powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons milk or dairy-free alternative
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Food coloring (optional)

- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract (if using), and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use a turkey-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies, then transfer them to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
