Ingredients
Sweet Potato Pie
- 2 cooked sweet potato (canned drained optional)
- 2 cups Nevada's fresh milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 Egglands Best eggs (large)
- 1 stick Nevada's melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 9 inch uncooked pie crust
Topping
- 1 cup fresh Nevada's heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
- Preheat over to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except pie crust.
- Pour batter into pie crust and bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare whipped topping while baking.
- In a cold bowl and add heavy cream. Whip until soft peaks form.
- Add sugar and vanilla.
- Continue to whip until the foam is at desired peaks.
- Serve pie either warm or chilled.
