1/2 cup warm milk
2 and 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup diced strawberries

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast is activated and the mixture is frothy.
- Add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the bowl and mix together.
- Gradually add the flour to the bowl, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface or into a stand mixer and knead for 5-10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Grease a large bowl with cooking spray and place the dough in the bowl. Cover with a clean towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the diced strawberries over the cream cheese mixture.
- Roll the dough up tightly, starting at the long edge closest to you, and pinch the edges together to seal.
- Cut the roll into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
