Patriotic Fudgy Brownies
I love the fact that brownies come together in just one big bowl. These easy patriotic brownies taste amazing, look spectacular, but are completely manageable to pull off. Perfect for celebrating America's birthday with friends and family!
Make This Recipe
Ingredients
4 large Eggland's Best eggs (room temperature)
1 cup 8oz unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 tablespoons oil
1 1/4 cups regular white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
7 oz roughly chopped chocolate
Red and Blue M & M’s
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Lightly grease an 8x12-inch baking pan. Line with parchment paper.
- Combine melted butter, oil, and sugars together in a bowl. Whisk to combine. Add the eggs and vanilla; beat until lighter in color.
- Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined (do NOT over beat).
- Fold in some of the chocolate pieces. Pour batter into a baking pan, smoothing the top, and top with remaining chocolate.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes for just under-done brownies (fudgier texture). OR 35-40 minutes if you like your brownies well set.
- Sprinkle red, and blue M&M’s on top of the brownies as soon as you remove them from the oven and lightly press down to secure them in place.
NOTE: cool to room temp before slicing. They set while they cool.
