Make This Recipe
Ingredients
Fritters:
1½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. salt
3 tbsp. melted butter
½ cup milk
2 Eggland's Best eggs, large
1 apple, diced
Maple Glaze:
1½ cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp. maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. milk
Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, cup milk, and eggs. Mix until you have a thick pancake batter-like consistency. If the batter feels too thick, add 1/4 cup milk to thin.
- Fold in the apples.
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Drop tablespoons size balls of batter into the oil for 4-5 minutes or until golden and crisp on all sides. Remove and drain on a wire rack with paper towels underneath.
- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, maple, and vanilla.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.
- Eat warm and enjoy!
