Classic White Layer Cake
This decadent white layer cake gets it’s light and fluffy texture from the addition of Eggland’s Best Egg Whites. Ingredients
2 ¾ cups sifted cake flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
½ cup Eggland’s Best 100% Egg Whites
1 ½ cups white sugar
¾ cup butter
1 cup milk
2
teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a cake pan by lining bottoms with parchment paper.
- Sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt; repeat three times.
- Beat Eggland’s Best Liquid Egg Whites until foamy. Add 1/2 cup sugar, while continue beating until meringue holds in soft peaks.
- In a separate bowl, add butter and beat until smooth. Add remaining 1 cup sugar and vanilla and cream together until well combined and fluffy. Add dry ingredients and milk slowly, beating until smooth. Gently fold in the meringue.
- Pour batter in prepared baking pans.

- Cool for a few minutes, then remove from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack completely.
Recipe Notes:
2 - 9 inch round pans for 30 minutes
3- 8 inch round pans for 25 minutes
