Make This Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 Eggland's Best Eggs (Large)
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 large loaf challah bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 250°F.

In a large bowl, combine eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, and honey.

Slice the challah in 3/4-inch thick slices.

Soak as many slices in the egg mixture as possible for 5 minutes, turning over once.

Heat butter and oil in a large saute pan over medium heat.

Add the soaked bread and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

Place the cooked French toast on a sheet pan and keep it warm in the oven.

Repeat with the remaining soaked bread slices; adding butter and oil as needed.

Serve hot with your favorite maple syrup, raspberry preserves, or confectioners' sugar!
