Apple Cranberry Pie
Spice up your dessert with this yummy Apple Cranberry Pie! I'm a HOT MESS when it comes to baking ANYTHING (and just being in the kitchen at all), but I can handle this recipe and always am able to impress with it! It's delicious and people are always excited and shocked when I tell them it features dark rum as the secret ingredient!

Ingredients
5 large apples
1 cup dried cranberries
2 pre-made pie crusts
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 cup dark spiced rum
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375° F.
- Peel & slice apples. Line pie tin with one of the pre-made pie crusts.
- Put apples and dried cranberries in a pot on low heat. Add dark spiced rum, 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Mix and let simmer until apples soften.
- Carefully (and slowly!) stir apples, slice apples, and cranberries are softened, remove from heat. Evenly add the mixture on to the pie crust.
- Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Pour evenly on top of the apple and cranberry mixture.
- Mix 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Pour evenly on top of the apple and cranberry mixture.
- Crack 2 Eggland's Best eggs - dispose of the egg whites and keep only the yolk. Mix the yolks.
- Apply egg wash to the edge of the pie crust. Add the second crust to the top of the pie.
- Press them together. sing a fork, gently press the pie crusts together and add holes in the center of the pie. Add egg wash to the top of the pie.
- Feel free to get creative and make a design!
- Place the pie in the oven and bake until golden brown (approximately 20 minutes!).
- Let cool and enjoy!
