March is National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month is a nutrition information and education campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign, which takes place in March each year, is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.  This year’s theme is “Nutrition From the Ground UP.”  Consumers are encouraged to start with the basics.  A healthy eating plan should emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat or fat-free dairy and includes meat, fish, beans and nuts.  A healthy eating plan is also low in saturated fats and cholesterol.    Egglands Best eggs are part of this “go basic” message.
